I Vote, I Count!

Mission of I Vote, I Count Campaign:

To empower Alaskans with disabilities and other Alaska Mental Health Trust beneficiaries to become active voters and part of the political process by eliminating voting barriers, promoting awareness of the voting process and helping people access their right to vote.

Updates

This is a major election year for Alaskans.  Tuesday, August 24th is the primary election and the general election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.  Up for election is Governor, Lt. Governor, all of Alaska's House of Representatives and half of Alaska's Senate.  You will be able to find plenty of opportunities to attend candidate forums in person or watch debates on television.  As part of the democratic process, you will want to find out how candidates stand on issues of importance to you. Candidates are always anxious to meet with voters and are open to hearing your issues.  Be an INFORMED VOTER and PARTICIPATE!

Did You Know?

Policymakers know whether you vote? They do not know who you voted for, but they will know if you voted in the election. Policymakers certainly pay attention to individuals who are more likely to vote in the election than if you are not registered and do not vote....so if you want your voice to be heard...VOTE!.

How Can You Help?

You can help by exercising your right to vote and by helping others do the same.  You can get the word out about the voter registration drive. Lets facilitate the process by making sure Mental Health Trust Beneficiaries, family members, caregivers, and anyone else interested or concerned with Trust Beneficiary issues are registered voters & actively involved in the voting process.

If you would like more information on voter accomodations or assisting others to register & vote, please contact Tammy Peria or Kathy Fitzgerald You can make a difference by helping ALL Alaskans participate in the democratic process...
